Planned spending in the Transportation and Aviation Services increased by 18% with funding for 10 new projects and ongoing projects. The Environmental and Utility Services also increased by 13% despite few projects in the recent period, because of the funding for Debt Service Repayment for Plant Capital Improvement Projects.
San Jose has four notable line items valued at over $ 20 million. The largest line item is the Belly Freight Facility, worth $54 million, under the Transportation and Aviation Services category, which funds the construction of a new air cargo terminal of approximately 150,000 square feet that will be used to process and store belly freight carried by commercial passenger airlines, pharmaceuticals, perishables, high value goods and concessionaire supplies.
