In the CIP covering the 2025-2029 fiscal years, the City of Kenosha, Wisconsin, detailed plans to spend $216 million on capital projects, a decrease of 25% from $288 million in its 2024-2028 CIP. The current and prior CIP have 152 line items. The table below breaks down Kenosha’s planned capital spending by business area for its last two CIPs.

Kenosha Public Works Categories Experience Significant Declines

Many of the business areas saw a decrease. The largest decrease was the Public Works - Others category, which dropped by 66% due to the City Hall Relocation project. This project is no longer being included in the current period, resulting in a $41 million decrease. The Public Works - Infrastructure category also saw a decrease of 22% due to the near completion of the 22nd Avenue Reconstruction and Resurfacing project.

Kenosha Invests Over $46 Million in Flood Control and Road Repairs

The City of Kenosha, Wisconsin, has two notable line items valued at over $15 million. The largest is the Flood Control Management project, valued at $26 million, under the Storm Water Utility category. There is also a $20 million Roadway Resurfacing and Repairs project under the Public Works - Infrastructure category, which focuses on street resurfacing, crack sealing, pothole repairs, mastic repairs, and roadway patching.
