Planned spending in the Storm Water category increased by 140% with over $100 million for the improvements to existing drainage systems and new projects identified by Drainage Master Plans throughout Memphis. The Sewer category also increased by 17% for ongoing projects, including South Plant Expansion project.
The City of Memphis, Tennessee has one notable line item valued at over $100 million and three at over $30 million, all belonging to the Sewer category. The largest line item is the South Plant Expansion, worth $105 million. This project funds the expansion of the T.E. Maxson Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF), including construction of additional primary darifiers, blowers, ABF Towers, final clarifiers, screens, ancillary structures and facilities.
