Planned spending in the General category increased by 359% with funding towards 14 new projects, including the Harnett County Schools -- Flatwoods Middle School and Central Carolina Community College renovations and replacements.
Harnett County has only one line item valued at over $100 million. The line item is the Harnett County Schools -- Flatwoods Middle School, worth $74 million, under the General category. The project includes the construction of a new 174,000-square-foot school to accommodate 1,100 students and to alleviate existing and projected overcrowding at Harnett Central and Overhills middle schools.
