Significant Increase in International Airport and County Buildings & Capital Construction
Planned spending in the International Airport category increased by 512% or $1.2 billion. The increase goes to ongoing projects, including Consolidated Rental Car Facility, Terminal B Parking Garage, and Concourse Expansion. There is also an added project under the County Buildings & Capital Construction, the Main Jail - Intake and Health Services Facility, worth $477 million, resulting in a 377% increase.
Over $400 Million Investment in Jail Facility
Sacramento County has six notable line items valued at over $100 million. The largest is the Main Jail - Intake and Health Services Facility, worth $447 million, under the County Buildings and Capital Construction category. Listed below are the other notable line items:
- Consolidated Rental Car Facility - worth $391 million, under the International Airport category.
- Terminal B Parking Garage - worth $380 million, under the International Airport category. The project involves the construction of an approximately 3,000-vehicle parking garage.
- Concourse Expansion - worth $300 million, under the International Airport category. This project will expand Terminal A and Concourse B to add additional gates supporting infrastructure to increase capacity. Elements include new gates, loading bridges, hold areas, baggage handling systems, and supporting infrastructure.
- Pedestrian Walkway From Terminal to Concourse B - worth $139 million, under the International Airport category.
- Hazel Avenue at U.S. Highway 50 Interchange - worth $101 million, under the Transportation category. This project involves the construction of safety and access improvements at the U.S. Highway 50 / Hazel Avenue interchange and the Hazel Avenue/Folsom Boulevard intersection.
