Did you know....SFPUC approved Modification 3 to the Southeast Water Pollution Control Plant (SEP) New Headworks Facility?

A Little More...In May of 2016 SFPUC awarded the contract WW-628 SEP New Headworks Facility Project, a Construction Manager / General Contractor (CM/GC) to the capable Sundt-Walsh Joint Venture in the amount of $292,180,184. Prior approved project modifications amounted to $47,617,960.

Recently, Modification 3 to the agreement was approved unanimously by the Public Utilities Commission on December 22nd, 2020 in the amount of $106,321,923 bringing the total contract value to just shy of $400,000,000. Modification 3 is requested to address outreach consultant services to fulfill LBE requirements, covering scope 1 and 2 costs to date, changes to overall project scope, and also covering an increase in General Conditions, Fees, General Requirements and Bonds.

In February 2020 the Capital Plan project budget was increased by $200,000,000, for a total of $618,834,566 for the Headworks Project to address projected changing conditions in the project design and construction and market conditions to complete this essential infrastructure project. Additional Modifications to the agreement may be forthcoming to address future developments and challenges.
